Protecting people from themselves might not be the responsibility of others...

but if people reliant on a fix become a threat to society then there's trouble and TROUBLE usually leads to some sort of hammer coming down. Right or Left, Right or Wrong, there will always be a contingent of people telling the rest of us how we should live. Sometimes some of us need that, but having people like this in power and gradually giving them even more power becomes a problem in itself.

Still we must acknowledge that Self Regulation is sometimes a non existent thing, especially when one has lost all their faculties due to an uncontrollable controlled substance frenzy... HENCE the need for SOME LAW. What's important is having an understanding of the proper place of government and how, by implementing too many draconian laws for victimless crimes we are automatically giving the Local, State and Federal enforcers overarching Powers and the capability to misuse that power. Let's Use this Forum to illustrate personal alcohol and illegal drug experiences and as a place to suggest solutions.
