TIT for TAT or is it Teat?
Alan Simpson violated a taboo last week when he likened Social Security to "a milk cow with 310 million tits." But contrary to the dictionary-deprived critics who accused him of sexist vulgarity, the former Wyoming senator's transgression had nothing to do with his use of a perfectly acceptable synonym for teat. Simpson's real sin was "belittling a bedrock program," as the AARP put it—i.e., showing insufficient reverence for a sacred cow.

When government should not bail out citizens
Most Americans feel the same way about regulation and government as they feel about art.
They don't know much about it, but they know what they like. What they like is having money to burn. Everybody is screaming about foreclosures, but those same people screamed with joy when they refinanced their houses when values skyrocketed. They blew the money and when the economy went into the toilet they couldn't make their mortgage an/or escrow payments and they couldn't sell their houses.
